When it comes to the principles of Christianity, there are a lot of things that they are mindful of. However, not all of these are forms of disapproval. The Bible clearly stated that we should all act like the child of Jesus Christ our savior. And as children of Christ, we should not be doing things that are unlawful in the eyes of the Lord.
Take the Ten Commandments for example. These are given to Moses by God at Mt. Sinai for his people—or the Israelites. Until now, these commandments are still preached to us since we are children of Christ.
But what does the Bible have to say about pornography? First, let us define what it means.
What is pornography?
It is anything that portrays sexual subject matter. Anything that elicits erotic behavior can fall under the category of pornography.
Is pornography bad?
This is a question men and women face when it comes to porn and debates about this subject are everywhere. In moderation, it’s not. But excessive pornography can cause addiction to most people which are not healthy. Too much of something is bad.
What does the Bible have to say about it?
In the bible, God disapproves pornography. The word pornography may not be mentioned directly in the book, but it interprets that any act of erotica is already considered pornography in the eyes of the Lord. In this regard, these Bible verses will show their spiritual thought about pornography.
Galatians 5:19 and 21
“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality…orgies and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”
“But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.”
